On The Horizon
Our plans are finally coming to fruition, and we wanted to give you an exclusive, behind the scenes report on our progress and rough outline of what’s on the horizon for The Cajun Vista Resort at Bourgeois Fishing Charters to shed some light on some of the questions we’ve received over these past few months.
The plans for all of the new kitchen cabinets using reclaimed sinker Cypress, harvested right from the swamps in our backyard are well underway!
When will you be offering lodging packages at The Cajun Vista?
We will be breaking ground on lifting the building next week to ensure we hopefully will never have to worry about flood waters again. This is an impressive engineering feat and no small undertaking so it’s no surprise that it has taken and will continue to take considerable time to complete. While this pushes our Grand Opening back to an estimated late Spring / early Summer launch we believe we will be able to operate in a limited capacity before then and will do everything in our power to ensure just that. Day fishing trips by boat and seaplane will continue uninterrupted.
On the upside of this hindering we were able to take massive strides interior-wise and are excited to enhance the experience for you, our guests.
We’re giving the bayou front view of the lodge a bigtime facelift! Starting with new, grand columns and a completely overhauled patio with outdoor dining and lounging.
What structural changes are being made at The Cajun Vista Resort?
Our entire fishing facility will now be 3 stories at a whopping 9-foot elevation with easy access to guest elevators.

Open Lounge area perfect for outdoor events, adding another covered meeting space
2nd Floor
- A welcoming turn-key Check In station for arriving guests.
- Indoor/Outdoor Dining Room seating with an elevated view of the bayou front side of the building.
- Expanded semi-open concept Kitchen enabling an interactive guest experience.
- Our largest guestroom has been subdivided for expanding our booking capacity, now totaling 10 guestrooms. Sleeping 52 guests comfortably.
3rd Floor
Cosmetic updates will be made throughout the top level.
