Great question! While there are many places that claim to be a true lodge, we’ve found that all too often they’re just glorified short term rentals- you get a code and you’re left on your own with no real hosts in this new place. One thing that we take great pride in is creating the ultimate Cajun experience and that starts with our staff. From the first phone call you make, speaking to our wonderful operations manager to walking through our doors and being greeted by the kitchen and housekeeping staff showing you your room to the guides walking along with you past our gardens and into their boat for an unforgettable day on the water-when you book with Bourgeois, you’re greeted and treated with Authentic Southern charm. We specialize in world-class inshore fishing, southern hospitality, mouthwatering Cajun Cuisine, unmatched amenities and unforgettable experiences.

Safety is our priority. If conditions are unsafe, we’ll reschedule your trip but the weatherman has often mislead many a fisherman. Even if the forecast looks bad there are many windows in the weather for us to fish some honey holes within a 15 minute boat ride of our lodge. What to Bring
Comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. In the summer, moisture wicking breathable upf rated clothing is a must. In the fall/winter wind breaking layers are especially helpful. Even if it doesn’t seem that cold the wind chill on a running boat will get you shivering so plan for more layers than you need and you can always stow them away after we stop. Non marking shoes, sunscreen, SUNGLASSES (We can’t stress this one enough. You do not want a hook to the eye.) a hat, and any personal items.
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your favorite beverages but use your discretion. We do not advise liquor on the boats.
Policies & Miscellaneous
Unfortunately. No pets are allowed but if you’re lucky you may meet our mascot Merle
Absolutely! We love seeing kids get excited about fishing! We usually say kids should be at least six years old to bring them along. But also remind parents that when you bring the kids along, it’s kind of their trip- meaning we only want to keep them out there as long as they’re enjoying it! Long hot days on the boat can feel like an eternity for a little one and the last thing we want to do is push them away from such a wonderful activity! Kids under 16 do not need a fishing license. Families are welcome and encouraged!
Yes! This is where we shine! Our spacious grounds can accommodate hundreds of guests! We host many corporate retreats, team building trips, sales meetings, bachelor parties, family reunions, and more.
